The sun is shining, after a heavy ground frost this morning; it is 1st March, St.David's Day or Dwyl Dewi.
I love Google's cartoon for today - a little traditional welsh lady having a pot of tea with a red dragon! I have made a new March Hare to celebrate and gift to my welsh friend and neighbour, Daphne. I have called him Dylan Thomas. He has a cross stitch daffodil on one ear, and a welsh leek on his ankle. His dungarees have a pretty heart trim that appropriately I bought on holiday in Oystermouth, Mumbles a couple of years ago. He is wearing a Marie Curie daffodil badge, and his patterned T-shirt sleeves are trimmed with bright yellow rickrack. I was able to give him wrapped in a lovely spring carrier bag. which originally had a sale frock in from Laura Ashley. The bag has a hare on one side and hen and chicks on the reverse. Daphne loved the carrier bag and Dylan Thomas sits in pride of place on her welsh dresser. (not shown).
