My sister moved into her new house and wanted two runners to put on her two granddaughters beds when they came to stop. The only instruction I was given ..... they must be pink! I could have sewn a couple of plain ones but hey why be boring, especially when they were for the wee ones.
I had been particularly struck with a quilt with a house applique design by my favourite sewing crafter Helen Phillips' book ... " Pretty Patchwork Gifts "
which I adapted for this project. I also thought that a house design was apt as a house warming present. The photos of the finished runners on beds were sent to me by my sister.

And I also gave her a lovely old glass jar (not shown) and painted this door knob as its top for her new home.

This door knob I painted and kept as a new handle for my own shed door. B. repainted the shed in summer.
