As you can see I've started sewing hexies together to make flower rosettes; one in the centre surrounded by six on the outside. Eventually, hopefully this will be a simplified 'Grandmother's flower garden' quilt. The hexies are much larger (3 inch) than traditional size ( usually about 1inch) , and therefore should grow quicker. I've made 15 hexies so far - I am a slow sewer and only manage about an hour each day even though this E.P.P. by hand is very addictive. I am really enjoying this project and love all the different range of random fabric designs I'm finding as I go along. I do intend to have it finished and given back to the shop ( see last post) before Christmas.. . . . . . . . . . . Wish me luck !

There were so many lovely fabrics to pick from but we eventually settled for Morris & Co.'s 'Kennet' with an aubergine background and large scale florals in gold
